Five Brilliant Tips on How to Be Successful on Twitter

We have recently released a post about Emoji and how you can use it to enrich your YouTube videos to engage with your audience more. Another important thing to keep in mind is that once you upload a video to YouTube you do need to promote it on social media which at times can give your masterpiece an incredible boost.

We are going to talk about all of them in our blog but today it is about Twitter.

When it comes to Twitter, it is always about limits. Limited words, tools and techniques. And although many are talking about Twitter dying, we think it is more about Twitter being very unique in the way you need to work with it.

Here are 5 tips on how to be successful on Twitter – let’s dive into it!

1. Start with clear vision of your business

What do you do, what is your target audience, what tools do you use?

It’s not enough to be just present on Twitter or have a page and tweet a couple of tweets twice a week. You need to build your “social presence”. You can hear this expression everywhere. But the question is: “How do you do it?”, right?

It sounds easier as it is to do it but it is as simple as:

  • Define your business goals;
  • Raise your target audience; and
  • Manage your tools in order to get the result.

2. Build your portfolio.

Start with the theory of 20/80. 20% are your Tweets`, 80% – others. Make sure that you retweet the right people who are probably going to be interested in your content, too. If it’s not the right people you will waste your time. Post only high quality content, such as pictures, collaterals, podcasts and so on.

3. Add similar profiles to your ‘Following’ section.

Follow only people, profiles or businesses who you really like or even passionate about or about their products. Period.

4. Be consistent

And don’t work from 8 to 5 but twice a week. You have to spend at least hours every day in order to build you real social presence, be friendly and try to engage as much as you can.

5. Work for your tomorrow, not for today.

Social presence takes time. If you are new and want to make your business live and grow it fast, you may need a couple of people who will work when you sleep.

Twitter is one of the best platforms to find like-minded people who will be following your business for more than just one day. And if you are looking for help with building your strong social presence on Twitter account – contact us now and we will be there to help you!

I love number 3 on your list! So many people follow any and everyone, but following people with similar businesses or interests gathers your community around you. Thanks for the tips!

Great tips. I’ve pretty much given up on Twitter though. I’ve found it’s pretty much a follow/unfollow game (kinda like Instagram). Plus it doesn’t drive much traffic for me. I do much better with Facebook.

Thank you for sharing your experience Leah. Twitter is a tough one but it is more about consistency and patience. And the toughest part about this is staying positive when the results are low. But hey, if you are doing good on Facebook, that’s a big one – Facebook is extremely important with its share in the social media world, so if you are good at it – you rock! 😉
